Terms of Use
Effective date: July 16, 2026
1. Acceptance
By downloading, accessing, or using Escape Matrix, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. The Service
Escape Matrix helps you manage digital focus by selecting apps, setting daily limits or quiet hours, receiving notifications, and using Apple Screen Time shield features. The app is a productivity and wellness tool, not a medical, psychological, legal, or emergency service.
3. Screen Time Permissions
Core features require Apple Screen Time permissions through FamilyControls, DeviceActivity, and ManagedSettings. If you revoke these permissions, limits, reports, notifications, and shields may stop working or become unavailable.
4. Your Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the apps, categories, limits, quiet hours, and rules you configure.
- You agree not to misuse the app, bypass technical controls in a harmful way, or interfere with the service.
- You are responsible for keeping your Apple, Google, and device accounts secure.
- You should not rely on Escape Matrix for urgent safety, health, or security needs.
5. Accounts and Sync
The app may create an anonymous Firebase account on first launch. You may link Google or Apple providers for account continuity. Cloud sync is provided to restore or move selected settings and app state. We may suspend or remove access if we detect abuse, fraud, or violation of these Terms.
6. Purchases
If paid features are offered, purchases are processed through Apple App Store and StoreKit, and RevenueCat is used to verify and restore subscription entitlements. Apple’s payment terms apply. Unless required by law or Apple policy, payments are handled according to Apple’s refund process.
7. Notifications and Shields
Notifications and shields are intended to support your focus choices. iOS, Screen Time, Focus modes, notification settings, battery state, network conditions, or Apple system behavior may affect when or whether alerts and shields appear.
8. Availability and Changes
We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the app at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly accurate operation, especially where the app depends on Apple system APIs or third-party services such as Firebase.
9. Intellectual Property
Escape Matrix, its design, text, interface, branding, and app experience are owned by us or our licensors. You may use the app only for personal, lawful purposes under these Terms.
10. Third-Party Services
The app may rely on Apple services, Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, RevenueCat, Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, and App Store services. Your use of those services may also be subject to their separate terms and policies.
11. Disclaimer
Escape Matrix is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted operation.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost productivity, or inability to access an app due to rules you configured.
13. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time and may delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if continued operation would create legal, security, or technical risk.
14. Privacy
Your use of Escape Matrix is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how data is collected, used, synced, and deleted.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the app evolves. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes means the updated Terms apply.
